Subject: [eWarrants] SG-1139
My experienced 31P has rotated to Ft Living room, leaving me with a
freshly pinned E5 in charge of my VHF section. Long story short, we
have 3 SG-1139s and some how all three are down for A3 cards. Is
anyone out there savvy enough with the SG that can let me know what
we are doing wrong or is this a systemic problem with this piece? I
went to 95th Calibration for help and was turned away, (not their
level). I have an appointment with 58th COMSEC and may get resolution
there, but I thought one of you high speed 918s might have some
insight?

Bill,
We had this problem about 2 years ago. It is not uncommon. When the new
cards come in it is possible that they will be keyed wrong. I sent a soldier
to the craft shop behind your building to cut the keys off the cards so they
would fit into the slots.

Rod,
I think we have a fix. Received an
email from a fellow 918 with a similar problem in the past. He
told me the SGs are sensitive to voltage spikes so I installed surge
protectors an the benches and checked the outlet grounds. This
should fix the problem; I guess it did for him. I'm going to 112th
Monday to troubleshoot them.
